At Strathcona Girls Grammar, we continue to celebrate the impressive VCE results of our Class of 2024 and take pride in the dedication, resilience, and hard work that every student has demonstrated throughout their studies.
Year after year, our students exemplify growth, success, and excellence, with each girl flourishing into an unstoppable young woman. For many of our girls, it’s not just about the end academic result—it’s about the Strathcona journey: where they started, the little achievements along the way, and trying new things that has defined their success.
Our Dux of 2024, Rachel, achieved an outstanding ATAR of 99.9, including a perfect study score of 50 in Accounting. She tells us that much of her success can be attributed to embracing opportunities presented throughout her time at Strathcona, as well as getting involved in cocurricular activities, working hard, and finding balance.
For Rachel, forming positive relationships with her teachers was crucial to her VCE success. ‘The teachers were always there for us, not just as a teacher, but also as a friend,’ she says. ‘They always encouraged us to try our best, and having such good teachers at Strathcona played a big part in our success because that’s where we get all the knowledge.’
Rachel also believes it’s important to find balance during Year 12, as it’s easy to get caught up in constant study. ‘I think if you section off your time and make sure you have time to do sports, spend time with friends, and dedicate uninterrupted time to study, it’s best to balance your studies. It’s always quality over quantity,’ she says. ‘I remember entering Year 12, debating whether to put my head down and lock in or live life to the fullest and enjoy my last year of school. I soon realised the two weren’t mutually exclusive. In fact, for me, they went hand in hand.’
Strathcona offers endless opportunities to our girls, so that they can be unstoppable in whatever path they choose. ‘At Strathcona, we have so many different opportunities, and I think it’s really important to make the most of everything,’ Rachel says. ‘It’s a great way to discover what you enjoy and learn about your hobbies. I definitely found that I was always drawn to study the subjects I enjoyed the most.’
When asked what advice Rachel would give to those entering their final year of VCE, she replied, ‘To work hard, play hard, and try your best. Make yourself proud and leave with no regrets.’
Congratulations to our Class of 2024 for their outstanding achievements. With the support of our teachers and a focus on Wholebeing and personal growth, our students are empowered to be unstoppable in this ever-changing world. We are immensely proud of their journey and excited to see the incredible paths they will continue to forge in the future.
