Alumnae in STEM: Dr Lynda Chambers (’85)

Dr Lynda Chambers has a career spanning over 30 years in the science field. She has been involved in developing seasonal rainfall forecast systems for the Bureau of Meteorology, assessed the effectiveness of a cloud seeding project for one of Melbourne’s water catchments with the CSIRO and has completed her PhD in Zoology plus many more exceptional achievements. Tangible difference

It was early in her career that Keely realised she enjoyed the prospect of mining. Working 1km below the earth’s surface gave her a thrill, and the heat, humidity and dust were just part of the job! So she embarked on a career in the mining industry, with various roles as a mining engineer, in production and more recently as a mine scheduler, plus engaging in a range of fly-in-fly out work and 6 days on 6 days off schedules.
