We regretfully share news that Mrs Marise McConaghy has announced her resignation as the Principal of Strathcona Girls Grammar.
The Board would like to thank Marise for her outstanding leadership, strategic acumen, and commitment to staff, students, and the wider Strathcona community over the past nine years. Marise has accomplished many great things while at Strathcona including continued academic excellence, strong enrolment growth, a thriving philanthropic program, and numerous awards for innovation, wellbeing, and STEM.
Commenting on her resignation Marise McConaghy said: “I have loved my time at Strathcona and am incredibly thankful to the entire school community for its support and trust in me over the years. Strathcona is renowned for its impressive academic results, innovation, outstanding staff, and positive school culture.”
In term one 2024, Marise will take up a new appointment as Principal of Queenwood, a leading all-girls school in Sydney. We would like to congratulate Marise on this exciting next chapter and have no doubt she will drive Queenwood to achieve great things, just as she has at Strathcona.
Tracy Herft, Deputy Principal of Strathcona, will take on the role of Acting Principal while the Board undertakes a thorough and rigorous recruitment process to appoint a new Principal who shares Strathcona’s vision and values and will successfully take the school forward into its centenary and beyond.
It is an incredible opportunity for the right educational leader and we look forward to sharing news of the appointment in the future.
